Ushakov on the Possible Meeting Between Putin and Aliyev
Russian presidential aide Yuri Ushakov has announced that there is currently no agreement regarding a meeting between Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev in Beijing. However, both leaders are expected to attend the celebrations honoring the 80th anniversary of the Victory in World War II on September 3, leading him to say, “everything is possible if there is a desire.”
On that day, a military parade will be held in Tiananmen Square in China to commemorate the anniversary of Victory. It was previously reported that 26 foreign leaders will participate in the celebrations.
“I don’t know. We haven’t specifically agreed on this meeting. But again, the leaders will be at the same table, at the same events. As they say, everything is possible if there is a desire, if there is will,” Ushakov stated in response to journalists' questions about the potential meeting between Putin and Aliyev.
