We Have Never Interfered and Do Not Plan to Interfere in Anyone's Internal Affairs: Peskov
The Serbian leadership is capable of taking all necessary measures to ensure security in the country. Everything that is happening is an exclusively internal matter for Serbia, and Russia has not intervened and does not plan to intervene in anyone's internal affairs, especially in the internal matters of its partner Serbia. This was stated by the press secretary of Russian President Dmitry Peskov.
"Everything that is happening is exclusively an internal matter of Serbia. Serbia has a legitimate and legal leadership that, according to our beliefs, can take all necessary measures. We have never intervened and do not plan to interfere in anyone's internal affairs, especially those of our ally and partner Serbia. We are united by a common historical and cultural heritage, we are very careful in our relationships, and we truly value them," Peskov told reporters.
It is worth noting that earlier, the Prime Minister of Serbia thanked Russia for warning about the impending unrest. Opposition representatives dissatisfied with the election results attempted to storm the city hall in Belgrade yesterday. Protesters broke the windows of the building's doors; in response, the police used tear gas, and more than 30 protesters were arrested.
