Is Armenia Preparing to Leave the CSTO? Russian Ambassador Responds

Although Armenian representatives are not participating in the organization's meetings, Armenia is not planning to exit the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). This was stated by the Russian ambassador to Armenia, Sergey Kopirkin, in an interview with TASS.

“In this matter, we primarily focus on the official statements from the Armenian leadership, according to which the question of Armenia's exit from the CSTO is currently not on the agenda. As is known, next year the Republic of Armenia will be chairing the Eurasian Economic Union,” he said.

He also added that during consultations, the Russian and Armenian sides agreed on establishing channels for operational communication to address possible disagreements in the spirit of friendly relations between the countries.

It is noteworthy that Armenia has recently been boycotting CSTO meetings. Earlier, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not attend the organization's summit held in Minsk.
