Senior Military Officer Simulated Illness During State of Emergency
In a recent investigation conducted by the Military Investigative Department of the RA Investigative Committee, it has been revealed that R.H., who held the position of deputy commander of the headquarters of military unit N, simulated an illness with the intent to avoid performing his duties during a declared state of emergency.
Specifically, R.H. left for a military hospital without informing his superior command, where he provided false information and reported non-existent complaints, resulting in his admission for inpatient care under a preliminary diagnosis.
As a result of R.H.'s simulated illness, he was able to temporarily suspend the performance of his military duties, specifically from November 3 to November 16, 2020. Legal proceedings have been initiated against R.H. under Article 527, Part 3 of the Criminal Code (causing harm to health, simulating illness, or unlawfully avoiding military service or the performance of specific duties).
The criminal case has been forwarded to the supervising prosecutor with a motion for it to be submitted to the court for confirmation and further examination.
