Zurabyan Asks Pashinyan to Publish Documents Threatening Armenia's Independence

During a press conference discussing the trilateral declaration signed in Washington on August 8, Pashinyan attempted to counter those claiming that the declaration has no legal force and cannot be seen as a peace agreement. This was reported by Levon Zurabyan, the vice president of the Armenian National Congress, on his Facebook page.

“Pashinyan said: ‘Now they say it’s a 'declaration' as if they want to belittle the significance of the 'declaration.' I have news for you, and you can evaluate whether it's good news or bad: Throughout the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the document that was negotiated from 1994 until the end was called the 'Declaration between the Presidents of the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan.’ This means that if the 'declaration' is a document with such a poor status, then my predecessors have sacrificed thirty years of our resources, energy, and the lives of martyrs for negotiating a 'worthless' piece of paper from 1994 to 2018. Let them today say that when they were negotiating a 'declaration,' it had no significance and confess that they deceived the people,’” Zurabyan stated.

Pashinyan lies, as usual. The documents discussed under the auspices of the Minsk Group that have already been published have the following statuses:

  1. Comprehensive Agreement on the Settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict (Всеобъемлющее соглашение по урегулированию нагорно-карабахского конфликта): July 1997;
  2. Agreement on the Cessation of Armed Conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh (Соглашение о прекращении нагорно-карабахского конфликта): December 1997;
  3. The document titled 'Common State' is named 'Principles of Comprehensive Settlement of the Armed Conflict in Nagorno-Karabakh,' and, as strange as it may be, it lacks a description of the document's status in the title, but the concept of 'agreement' is applied to the subsection titled 'On the Status of Nagorno-Karabakh' (О принципах всеобъемлющего урегулирования нагорно-карабахского вооруженного конфликта, Соглашение о статусе Нагорного Карабаха): November 1998.

You can find all of this on the personal website of Russia’s official representative, Vladimir Kazimirov, from the mentioned years. Other documents have not yet been published by any authoritative source. But this is enough to understand that the serial liar Pashinyan is using another lie to cover up his failures.

By the way, Nikol, when will you finally publish the settlement plans that were on your desk in 2019, which you, by your own admission, rejected to save Armenia's independence? It is high time to publish that plan and prove to our public that this proposal presented by the USA, France, and Russia contained threats to our independence and that is precisely why you rejected it.
