Turkey Will Continue to Contribute to Ukraine's Security, Says Erdogan
Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has emphasized the importance of continuing negotiations with Russia during a phone call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky. He expressed his readiness to do everything possible to facilitate high-level communication.
“President Erdogan noted that Ankara is closely monitoring the communications in Alaska and Washington, that Turkey continues to make efforts to ensure that the war ends with a lasting peace, and that Turkey will continue to contribute to Ukraine's security through the establishment of peace,” stated the Turkish leader's office.
During the conversation, Erdogan discussed the possibility of finding a “just solution” to the conflict in Ukraine and underscored the need for negotiations between the two sides to be strengthened and continued.
“President Erdogan also expressed Turkey's willingness to do everything possible to facilitate high-level communications that would pave the way for peace,” the statement added.
