Washington believes that a bilateral meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky could take place. This was stated by the U.S. President's Special Representative, Steve Witkoff, in an interview with Fox News.
“I think a bilateral meeting could eventually happen,” he said. Witkoff emphasized that U.S. President Donald Trump might be necessary at the negotiating table to "seal the deal."
On the previous day, Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha announced after a phone call with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and European counterparts that Kyiv is ready to conduct negotiations between Putin and Zelensky in any location and in various formats.
