Strong Earthquake in Russia Felt in Armenia

An earthquake occurred in the Russian Federation, 75 km southeast of the city of Makhachkala. On August 27, according to the seismic monitoring network of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations, a seismic event was recorded at a depth of 10 km with a magnitude of 5.5, located at geographic coordinates 42.52° N latitude and 48.20° E longitude, approximately 75 km southeast of Makhachkala.

The intensity of the ground shaking in the epicenter zone was measured at 7-8 points. The earthquake was felt in several communities of the Tavush region of Armenia, registering an intensity of 2-3 points.
