Azerbaijan Will Also Gain Access to Our Infrastructure, Mirzoyan

We will gain access to Azerbaijan's infrastructure, and naturally, Azerbaijan will gain access to our infrastructure. This includes an unobstructed route through Armenian territory to connect with Nakhichevan. This reciprocal arrangement will create advantages for Armenia in terms of international and domestic transport flows.

This was announced by Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan. He stated, “Before the opening of these infrastructures, there must be a delimitation. The Armenian flag should be raised on this side, and the Azerbaijani flag on the other side, and some border checkpoint should be constructed. There should be border services; this will occur within the frameworks of the sovereignty, territorial integrity, and jurisdiction of the two countries. We have agreed on what is written.”

The Minister noted that the land through which the infrastructure will pass in the territory of Armenia, utilized by Azerbaijan's trains, will belong to the Republic of Armenia. According to Mirzoyan, discussions about a 99-year period currently have no relation to reality.
