Seiran Ohanyan is either lying or simply uninformed, says Simonyan

National Assembly President Alen Simonyan responded to the statement made by the leader of the "Hayastan" faction, Seiran Ohanyan, regarding the failure to hold a meeting of the Armenia-Artsakh interparliamentary commission. In response to a question from an Armenian Press correspondent about how he would interpret Ohanyan's announcement that he had written two letters to the Assembly President on this matter, Simonyan said, "But are they (the 'Hayastan' faction) coming to the National Assembly, that they want to hold a meeting of the Armenia-Artsakh interparliamentary committee? Are they coming to any events, are they working in the National Assembly building? Seiran Ohanyan's party members met with the President of the Artsakh National Assembly, Arthur Tovmasyan, and he answered all their questions. I think that Seiran Ohanyan is either lying or simply uninformed. With all due respect to him, I assume that he is simply uninformed because I know that even during the proceedings of the National Assembly, Seiran Ohanyan's participation and influence are not very significant in the 'Hayastan' alliance, and everyone keeps him informed about what is happening. Therefore, I urge Mr. Ohanyan to confirm with his party members what they discussed with the President of the Artsakh National Assembly or to clarify whether it is necessary to come to the parliament at all to hold an interparliamentary meeting. When talking about responsibilities, I apologize, but first and foremost, they should fulfill their obligations and come to the National Assembly," said Simonyan.

Earlier, in a conversation with reporters, Seiran Ohanyan stated that their faction has written two letters to Assembly President Alen Simonyan requesting the convening of a meeting of the Armenia-Artsakh interparliamentary commission: "Why aren't those meetings being held? Just ask the Assembly President, 'Why are you not fulfilling your duties?'" Ohanyan said.
