Aliyev on Attacks Against Azerbaijanis in Russia

Unprovoked attacks against Azerbaijanis have begun in Russia. Two individuals were killed and tortured. Subsequently, according to official reports, they died of a heart attack. This was stated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in an interview with Al-Arabiya TV.

“Even if they allegedly committed a crime 20 years ago, they are people and should not be treated this way. What kind of attitude is this? Among them were citizens of Azerbaijan and Russian citizens of Azerbaijani descent. This was an unprecedented action against our people.

We are not responsible for the deterioration of relations. We respond only in a constructive and legal manner, but will never tolerate signs and manifestations of aggression or disrespect towards us,” the Azerbaijani President added.
