Flag Burned Near the White House
A U.S. military veteran has been arrested for burning an American flag near the White House in protest against one of President Donald Trump's recent executive orders, local Fox 5 reported.
According to the report, the veteran was apprehended during a demonstration in front of the White House after setting the flag ablaze.
The television station noted that President Donald Trump signed an executive order mandating U.S. authorities to investigate incidents of flag burning and, if warranted, hold those involved accountable.
According to the document released by the White House, the U.S. Department of Justice is required to "prioritize the full enforcement of federal criminal and civil laws against acts of desecrating the American flag." This applies in cases where such acts do not fall under the protection of free speech and violate the law.
