Hungary Calls on Zelensky to Cease Threats Against Druzhba Pipeline
Mariam Z.
The Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Peter Szijjarto, has stated that the remarks made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky regarding potential strikes on the Druzhba pipeline are threats.
During a press conference in Kyiv, Zelensky mentioned that the existence of Druzhba depends on Hungary's position. Over the past two weeks, Hungary has accused Ukraine three times of planning attacks on the Druzhba pipeline.
Szijjarto wrote on his Facebook page that Hungary views these attacks on its energy security as an "infringement on sovereignty." He urged Volodymyr Zelensky to "stop threatening Hungary." Hungary is also opposed to Ukraine's membership in the EU.
