Court Grants Three Requests from Archbishop Ajapahyan's Lawyers
The court has granted three requests made by the lawyers of Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan.
In the first request, the lawyers demand the involvement of experts to determine whether there are calls for a coup in the Archbishop's statement. The second request seeks an investigation into a recording from 2023, in which Ajapahyan discusses the coup, and which the Prosecutor General’s Office had previously found no criminal elements in a year ago.
The third request demands that the court take into account the fact that during investigative actions at Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan's residence, the authorized representative of the leader of the Shirak Diocese was not allowed to participate.
The court is continuing to examine the evidence in the case of Mikayel Ajapahyan today. It is noteworthy that Mikayel Ajapahyan is accused of calls to seize power. If found guilty, he faces penalties ranging from a fine to a maximum of five years in prison.
