Armenia Realizes That Being Excluded from the ‘Zangezur Corridor’ is Economically Disadvantageous: Turkish Foreign Ministry Representative

The so-called ‘Zangezur Corridor’ will ensure long-term peace in the South Caucasus. This was stated by Metin Gurcan, a representative of the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The ‘Zangezur Corridor’ will connect China and Central Asian countries with Europe through rail and land routes via Azerbaijan and Turkey, playing a crucial role as a bridge between the East and the West. The implementation of this project will also ensure peace in the South Caucasus. It is important that Armenia is demonstrating a willingness for peace and understands that being excluded from the ‘Zangezur Corridor’ is economically disadvantageous. Notably, the corridor will allow Nakhchivan, an integral part of Azerbaijan, to be liberated from its blockade,” said Metin Gurcan.

It is noteworthy that the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a document on the unblocking of communication routes in Washington on August 8, mediated by the President of the United States. This concerns a new transit and development project known as “Trump's Route for International Peace and Prosperity.”
