Pashinyan Again Speaks About Artsakh, Attempting to Justify His Decisions – Oskanyan
Azerbaijan has achieved its objectives and will continue to do so as long as Pashinyan remains in power, regardless of what he says or doesn’t say. This is stated by former Armenian Foreign Minister Vardan Oskanyan.
“Yesterday, Nikol Pashinyan once again spoke about Artsakh, trying in vain to justify his disastrous decisions. For anyone familiar with the events of recent years, it is clear that the main cause of our losses is Pashinyan's complete inability. His claim that making concessions before the 2020 war would have been more harmful to Armenia is absolute nonsense. There is not a shred of doubt that if Pashinyan had made the necessary concessions before September 2020, thousands of young Armenians would be alive today. Artsakh and Lachin would remain Armenian, a peace agreement would have been signed, and our borders and communications would be open.
Instead, his contradictory words and careless diplomacy led Armenia to a catastrophic war and left us defeated on all fronts. And to prevent the question of 'why didn't you do this in 2008,' let me say that if we had seen the prospect of such developments and had noticed it, we would have certainly taken the necessary steps.
We can only hope that Pashinyan will stop speaking before he leaves politics. His words have long become Armenia's heaviest burden, constantly undermining national security and inflicting immense damage. His contradictory and absurd statements have repeatedly strengthened Azerbaijan's positions, bringing devastating consequences for Armenia. Now, when almost everything has already been conceded, his words are strategically irrelevant. Azerbaijan has achieved its goals and will continue to do so as long as Pashinyan remains in power, regardless of what he says or does. His words only deepen the people's sorrow, constantly reminding us that all our losses could have been prevented.
Pashinyan's inability is the main reason for our national tragedy, and his attempts to rewrite history only deepen the wound. At this stage, silence would be incomparably more beneficial for Armenia than his endless justifications,” he wrote.
