Regarding the presumption of innocence, I cannot give any assessment of the legal system's performance. This was stated by Emma Palyan, a member of the National Assembly from the Civil Contract party, while discussing the recent arrests related to the Ministry of Economy during a conversation with reporters.

She also added that she has known Alen Simonyan and his family members for a long time and considers them very dear people. “I cannot imagine that these people could find themselves in such a situation. When we came to power, we said that everyone is equal before the law. Nothing has changed. If I also commit some violation, we are all equal before the law,” she noted.

When asked about the initiative among deputies to gather signatures and present a guarantee to release the detained individuals, Palyan responded, “As a female deputy, I have such a desire, but there is still no decision from the faction. Alen Simonyan is very loved and respected within the Civil Contract party. I have been a member of the CP since 2016, and I can confidently say that Alen Simonyan is a person who is both loved and respected within our party. Mr. Simonyan carries out and will continue to fulfill his duties, and I am one of those who will always be by his side.”
