Ukraine Imposes New Sanctions; Russia Has Not Responded Yet

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced sanctions against 167 companies and individuals from certain countries allegedly conducting transactions with Russia via his Telegram channel. The relevant decrees have not yet been published on his official website.

According to Zelensky, 139 individuals and legal entities have been added to the list in coordination with the sanctions imposed by Canada. Additionally, Ukraine has independently imposed sanctions on 28 citizens from various other countries.

Zelensky regularly signs decrees imposing sanctions on physical and legal persons from Russia, as well as on citizens and companies from other countries that Ukraine accuses of cooperating with the Russian Federation and engaging in anti-Ukrainian propaganda. Ministries and agencies draft lists of sanctions, submit proposals, and then the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine makes corresponding decisions.

At the same time, Kyiv is continuously urging Western countries to adopt its proposals for sanctions against Moscow.
