Two Earthquakes in One Day Near the Coasts of Kamchatka

Seismologists have recorded two earthquakes of magnitude over 5 near the eastern coast of Kamchatka, reports the Kamchatka branch of the Federal Research Center for Earth Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

“The distance from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is 219 kilometers. The depth is 25.7 kilometers. The magnitude is 5.2,” the agency stated.

The first earthquake occurred three hours ago. “The distance from Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky is 180 kilometers. The depth is 60.1 kilometers. The magnitude is 5.3,” the statement noted.
