St. Petersburg and Leningrad Region Under Massive Drone Attack
The city of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad region have been subjected to a drone attack. Pulkovo Airport has suspended its operations, and dozens of flights have been delayed. Local authorities have warned of slowdowns in mobile internet in the area, as reported by Kommersant.
Initially, the governor of the Leningrad region, Alexander Drozdenko, reported the destruction of one drone in the Tosnensky area. Shortly after, he announced the destruction of three more drones in Tosno, one in Kirishi, and one in Gatchina.
“Considering the current situation regarding the number of drones in the airspace of the Leningrad region, I ask everyone to refrain from being close to industrial areas and enterprises, as well as visiting public places. I have instructed all structural units to transition to a state of high readiness,” the official stated.
The governor of St. Petersburg, Alexander Beglov, reported the destruction of a drone in the Pushkin area, indicating that “the strike occurred at a safe distance from residential buildings.” This was followed by another incident in the Krasnoselsky region.
