Romanos Petrosyan Attempts to Restructure Staff at Electric Networks of Armenia

Following Romanos Petrosyan's appointment as the temporary manager of the Electric Networks of Armenia, a significant staff overhaul has commenced within the organization. Petrosyan has been dismissing employees and terminating their labor contracts.

The reasons for the dismissal of long-standing staff are unclear; however, it is evident that the dismissed employees are not accepting this decision lightly and have begun approaching the courts to restore their rights. This news was reported by Factinfo.

Just yesterday, three lawsuits were submitted to the court by former employees challenging Petrosyan's orders regarding their dismissals. In particular, Gagik Sargsyan has filed a lawsuit demanding the annulment of Petrosyan's order from July 31 concerning the termination of his labor contract and the settling of his final wages. This lawsuit has been assigned to judge Syuzanna Ulikhanyan of the Yerevan Civil Court.

Similar claims have also been filed by Hovik Hambardzumyan and Hambardzum Grigoryan. The latter's case has been assigned to judge Gohar Grigoryan, while Hambardzumyan's case has been assigned to Tatevik Stepanyan. The lawsuits have not yet been accepted for proceedings.

Previously, a lawsuit was also filed by David Ghazinyan, the former deputy executive director and acting director of the Electric Networks of Armenia. In one of his lawsuits, Ghazinyan is demanding the annulment of Petrosyan’s order dismissing him from his position and seeks reinstatement. In a second lawsuit, he is requesting the company to present the changes made to the charter of the Electric Networks of Armenia on July 14, 2025, for state registration, and to restore him to the position of acting director, as well as to define the limits of authority between the acting head of the executive body and the temporary manager.
