If Putin and I Did Not Understand Each Other, the U.S. Would Be at Risk, Trump
U.S. President Donald Trump has stated that if he and Russian President Vladimir Putin did not understand each other, the United States would be in danger.
"If he and I did not understand each other, it would really put us at risk as a country," Trump said during an interview.
It is worth noting that negotiations between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump, took place in Alaska on August 15. The leaders met at the Elmendorf-Richardson military base. Overall, the Russian president's visit to Alaska lasted five hours. The narrow-format negotiations between the leaders of Russia and the U.S. lasted for 2 hours and 45 minutes, held in a 'Three Against Three' format. Apart from Putin and Trump, the meeting also included Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and presidential aide Yuri Ushakov, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff.
After the meeting, Putin stated that the negotiations with Trump were held in a constructive atmosphere, while Trump noted that significant progress had been made on several issues, including those related to Ukraine and nuclear agreements, following his meeting with the Russian leader.
