Merz Announces Upcoming Meeting Between Putin and Zelensky
The meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian leader Volodymyr Zelensky may take place within the next two weeks. This was announced by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, as reported by Reuters.
“The American president has had a phone conversation with the Russian president and agreed that a meeting between the Russian and Ukrainian presidents will occur in the coming two weeks,” he stated.
On August 18, a meeting took place at the White House between U.S. President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Zelensky. In addition to them, several European leaders participated in the negotiations, as well as European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte.
