Illegal Extraction Occurs in Byurakn Village
Officers of the Community Police Department of the Amasia division received operational information that a limited liability company was conducting illegal extraction of minerals outside the allocated boundaries of a basalt mine in the administrative territory of Byurakn village.
On August 11, community police verified the operational data. Caterpillar excavators and various machines were operating on site. It was found that the company was extracting minerals not only from the allocated two and a half hectares but also from approximately 700 square meters of agricultural land without permission and a contract, causing damage to the state, the extent of which is being determined.
A criminal case has been initiated in the Shirak regional investigative department on grounds of violations of requirements for the preservation or use of mineral resources. Circumstances are being clarified during the investigation.
