Verdict Published in the Case of Sona Mnatsakanyan

The verdict in the case of Sona Mnatsakanyan, a pregnant woman who was struck and killed by a vehicle in the motorcade of Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, has been released. The defendant, Aram Navasardyan, has been sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison and will be fined 4 million drams.

It is recalled that on April 26, at around 18:05, the commander of the escort unit of the Road Police of the Republic of Armenia struck a 28-year-old resident of the Ararat region with the "Toyota Prado" vehicle he was driving at the intersection of Paronyan and Leo streets. As a result of the injuries sustained, she was transported to the Nairi Medical Center, where she later died without regaining consciousness. The motorcade was escorting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the time, and the deceased woman was pregnant.
