Since the First Day of Our Independence, We Have Lived in an Atmosphere of Conflict: Pashinyan
Peace has been established between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. Dear people, peace has been established between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. This was announced by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in his message.
“In this process, of course, the role of U.S. President Donald Trump and his administration is invaluable. This is the reason why we have decided, together with the President of Azerbaijan, to nominate Mr. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize to the international Nobel Committee.
But I want to return to ourselves and note that since August 8, we have been living in an absolutely different, completely new South Caucasus, we live in an absolutely different, completely new Republic of Armenia, and this fact must be acknowledged. I say this because it is not easy to realize, because it is an unfamiliar situation and reality for us.
We, the citizens of the Third Republic, do not know what peace is, we do not know what it means to live in conditions of peace and to work in conditions of peace. This is an unfamiliar feeling for us, because from the first day of our independence, we have lived in an atmosphere of conflict, in a state of war or 'neither war nor peace.' People have dreamed of peace, but on the other hand, those who used the word ‘peace’ have often been condemned and criticized,” he said.
