Fire in One of the Nar-Dos Buildings in Yerevan: Fatality Reported

On August 18, at 10:54 AM, the National Crisis Management Center received an alert about a fire that broke out in one of the apartments on the 10th floor of a building on Nar-Dos Street in Yerevan.

Four firefighting units from the Ministry of Internal Affairs' Yerevan Rescue Department and a fire ladder were dispatched to the scene.

As a result of the firefighters' prompt action, the fire was contained by 11:30 AM. Preliminary reports indicate that one person was injured.

According to Shamshyan.com, a woman was retrieved from the apartment in extremely critical condition and later died in the ambulance. The deceased was identified as 86-year-old Jorjeta B., a resident of the building. She did not suffer from burns but succumbed to smoke inhalation.
