Secret Documents of Trump and Putin Meeting Unearthed
According to American NPR, documents marked by the U.S. State Department have been discovered in a hotel in Alaska, revealing some details of a meeting that took place on August 15 between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage. The eight-page material, which appears to belong to U.S. delegation staff and was accidentally left in the hotel’s business center, contains exact locations, times of the summit, and phone numbers of American officials.
The first page of the documents outlines the sequence of meetings on August 15, including the names of the rooms at the Anchorage military base. It also notes that Trump intended to present Putin with a symbolic gift—a figurine of the American bald eagle.
Pages two through five list the names and phone numbers of three American staff members, along with a roster of 13 American and Russian officials, including phonetic pronunciations of the Russian officials' names, such as “Mr. President POO-tihn.”
Pages six and seven describe the summit's lunch, which was planned to honor “His Excellency Vladimir Putin.” The seating arrangement indicated that Trump and Putin were to sit across from each other. To Trump’s right were to be Secretary of State Marco Rubio, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and White House Chief of Staff Suzy Wiles, while to his left were Treasury Secretary Scott Bessenet, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnik, and special envoy Steve Witkoff. Next to Putin were to sit Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Assistant for Foreign Affairs Yuri Ushakov.
Although the planned lunch ultimately did not occur, the documents suggest that it was to be straightforward and divided into three courses. The menu was to include a green salad, followed by filet mignon and halibut olympia, with crème brûlée for dessert.
