Putin Does Not Intend to End the War, Kallas Says
The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, has stated that Russia is stalling negotiations and does not intend to cease the war anytime soon.
“Putin continues to delay negotiations and hopes to come out unscathed. He left Ankara without committing to halt the killings. The U.S. can force Russia to engage in serious negotiations, and the EU will work with Washington and Kyiv to ensure lasting peace. Moscow will not end the war as long as it does not realize it cannot continue,” Kallas wrote on the social media platform X.
Kallas added that Europe will continue to support Ukraine, including through the new 19th package of sanctions against Russia.
