Nikol Pashinyan to Visit Russia, Says Ovchuk

The Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, is set to visit Russia in the near future, as announced by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Ovchuk to reporters.

Pashinyan last visited Russia in July, where he participated in an international environmental conference held in Altai.

Furthermore, Deputy Prime Minister Ovchuk is scheduled to visit Yerevan next week to discuss Armenia's role in the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).

He indicated that the trip had been planned in advance, stating, "The visit is related to a normative legal act (a government decision of the Republic of Armenia) that we believe contradicts EEU law." This issue will be discussed in Yerevan.

In light of a recent trilateral meeting in Washington, where a declaration was signed with the participation of the leaders of Armenia, the USA, and Azerbaijan, Ovchuk is expected to discuss the results of the negotiations with Prime Minister Pashinyan as well.

He noted, "There may be a meeting with Nikol Vovaevich Pashinyan where we will address several nuances, primarily related to the unblocking of communications in the South Caucasus region."

Ovchuk emphasized that Russia considers issues concerning its interests in the South Caucasus significant, including the development of railway communications.

"A meeting with the Azerbaijani side is also planned for the end of next week, and we will discuss these matters there as well; movement is underway," he added.

When asked whether this meeting would take place in Baku, Ovchuk responded that it would occur "in Russia."
