An Armenian Stance is Very Important for Us: Honorary Consul of Iran in Kapan

Prime Minister Pashinyan had a phone conversation with President Pezeshkian. What we have been told is that the border and Iran's red line will be maintained. The border between Iran and Armenia has a history of several thousand years, and we consider it a border of friendship and solidarity. We have never had any issues at this border, and the two countries have always maintained warm relations. And, I believe, the clear proof is that I am here next to you.

This was stated during a conversation with journalists by the Honorary Consul of Iran in Kapan, Morteza Abedin Varamin. The consul noted that it will probably not benefit neighboring countries in the region for someone from outside to intervene here, but an Armenian stance is very important for them.

"I would say that the border of Armenia is at the disposal of Armenia, and the Iranian side, of course, is under Iran's control. We have been informed by Armenia that there will be no military attachments or representatives from foreign nations at the border," said the Honorary Consul of Iran.
