Iran Focuses on Preserving Its National Interests: Araqchi

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has stated that while Iran supports peace and stability among neighboring countries, it simultaneously pays special attention to regional geopolitical stability and the preservation of its national interests. This was reported by the Iranian Mehr agency.

“On Wednesday, I received the Deputy Foreign Minister of Armenia and the Special Representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry for Caucasus Affairs. We discussed international issues, focusing on the political developments in the Caucasus region,” Araqchi wrote.

According to Araqchi, he reiterated that while the Islamic Republic of Iran supports the establishment of peace and stability in relations among neighboring countries, it concurrently places special emphasis on regional geopolitical stability and the preservation of its national interests.

The Foreign Minister also added that Iran remains particularly sensitive to any plans or projects that could restrict its transportation accessibility or the country's interests.
