Trump to Meet Face-to-Face with Putin; Zelensky Not Attending

U.S. President Donald Trump will meet face-to-face with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Anchorage, Alaska. This was announced by White House Press Secretary Caroline Levitt.

She simultaneously stated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has not been invited to the Trump-Putin summit taking place in Alaska on Friday, as it was Putin who requested the meeting.

“Thus, the president agrees to this meeting at President Putin's request,” she said.

Trump hopes that a trilateral meeting with Zelensky can occur in the future to end the conflict. “I believe that having the U.S. president in the same room as the Russian president, sitting face-to-face rather than talking on the phone, will give that president the best understanding of how to end this war,” Levitt added.
