Araqchin Holds Meeting with Russian Foreign Ministry’s Special Representative for Caucasus
In Tehran, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchin met with Igor Khovaev, the Russian Foreign Ministry’s special representative for the Caucasus.
During the meeting, the Iranian Foreign Minister reiterated Iran's principled stance in support of establishing peace between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan. He emphasized that regional issues should be resolved peacefully and by the countries of the region themselves, utilizing regional mechanisms such as the ‘3+3’ format, while considering the security and stability concerns of the region and neighboring countries in any regional agreement.
During the meeting, Igor Khovaev presented a report on Russia's diplomatic efforts aimed at establishing peace and tranquility in the Caucasus and underscored the importance of close and continuous consultations, cooperation, and coordination between Iran and Russia.
