Powerful Eruptions on the Sun: Magnetic Storm Continues
On the night of August 12, two powerful solar eruptions occurred, reported the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FGBU "IPG") on its official website.
"On August 12, a group of sunspots registered an M1.5 eruption lasting 34 minutes in the X-ray range. Additionally, another eruption of M1.8 lasting 9 minutes was recorded in the X-ray spectrum of the sunspot group," the institute's statement said.
Today's forecast indicates that solar eruption activity remains moderate. X-class eruptions, including proton eruptions, are possible. The magnetic storm continues, the institute announced.
It is also noteworthy that on the morning of August 8, a strong eruption occurred on the Sun. On August 7, 18 eruptions took place on the Sun, nearly all observed near the Sun-Earth line.
