Lawyer of Bagrat the Bishop Presents Unedited Version of Audio Recording

Member of the defense team for Bagrat the Bishop, Hovhannes Khudoyan, has presented evidence which he claims proves that the audio recordings underlying the accusations against Archbishop Bagrat Galstanyan have been edited.

“Since the preliminary investigation into the case of the Holy Struggle has concluded, let me tell you the truth. Let’s see how law enforcement agencies jointly deceived our society.

1. A segment from the first release of the Investigative Committee, the so-called ‘gulling’ segment (attached audio). It starts without a preface, the context is omitted. The phrase ‘the investigation got off the hook’ is followed in the text by ‘everyone is being eradicated.’ This is heard in the audio, but the investigation did not provide the phrase ‘why are you executing?’ in the text. After this expression, the recording is cut off, omitting the answer to the question.
2. The Chief Prosecutor's request concerning Artur Sargsyan (attached two-page images). It discusses the formation of groups, providing context, and then the thought is abruptly cut off, as if only the relevant parts are presented. The thought ‘again, I’m not going to say it a second or third time’ is followed without ellipses by ‘it is difficult to change people’s consciousness’. An impression is created that this is part of a dialogue, but we will see that a significant part has been omitted, and these sections bear no relation to each other in content.
3. Notes drafted by the National Security Service (attached two images), which also served as the basis for the case. It is presented as a complete dialogue. Here, too, the thought ‘again, I’m not going to say it a second or third time’ is followed without ellipses by ‘it is difficult to change people’s consciousness.’ Meanwhile, we will see that these are cut segments. Following the words ‘they will be happy’ there is a response ‘this kind of a state is not built,’ but it is cut from another segment of the recording and does not even precede the thought ‘I have seen all this in that system.’
4. The relevant segment of the recording in full, which was provided at the conclusion of the investigation. According to law enforcement and non-law enforcement advocates, ‘gulling’ was related to representatives of the current authorities, but listen to the recording in full and decide for yourselves what the conversation is about.
