Aliyev: Territorial Claims Against Azerbaijan Must Be Excluded for Peace Treaty Signing

"The Armenian side has itself expressed its readiness to make changes to the Constitution of Armenia. The signing of a peace treaty will become possible after the territorial claims against Azerbaijan are excluded from the Constitution of Armenia," Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated in an interview with the media.

Aliyev expressed confidence that the peace agreement, pre-signed at the White House, has already brought peace to the region, following his visit to the USA.

He noted that Armenia has its domestic tasks. "As you know, the presence of territorial claims against Azerbaijan, which are enshrined in the Constitution of Armenia, prevented the signing of a peace agreement today. However, after making the appropriate changes, the agreement can be signed at any time," said Aliyev.
