Pashinyan, Aliyev, and Trump Agree on the 'Trump Route'
In Washington, Nikol Pashinyan, Ilham Aliyev, and Donald Trump officially agreed on the issue of operating the 'Trump Route.'
'Armenia will cooperate with the USA to implement the 'Trump Route,' Pashinyan announced during the trilateral meeting in Washington. US President Donald Trump also noted that the declaration to be signed envisions the establishment of a 'Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity.'
Trump clarified that the name was suggested by Pashinyan and Aliyev, and he did not request it.
Talking about the so-called 'Zangezur Corridor', now referred to as the 'Trump Route,' the US President added: 'The route will allow Azerbaijan to reach Nakhchivan while fully respecting Armenia's sovereignty. Armenia is also creating an exclusive partnership with the USA to develop this corridor, which can be extended for up to 99 years, with a promise to extend it for another 99 years after that. We expect significant infrastructural developments, American companies are eager to enter these countries and spend large amounts of money, which will bring economic benefits to our three states.'
Subsequently, Donald Trump, Nikol Pashinyan, and Ilham Aliyev signed the document, and Pashinyan remarked: 'I congratulate everyone, our regional countries, I congratulate the world: as a result, the world will become a better place,' said Pashinyan.
