India Anticipates Putin's Visit at Year-End

India's National Security Advisor Ajit Doval has stated that the meeting with the Russian President could set new directions for the development of relations between the two countries. Earlier, Putin accepted Modi's invitation to visit India.

India is expecting the visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin at the end of the year, according to National Security Advisor Ajit Doval during a meeting with the Secretary of Russia's Security Council, Sergey Shoigu. He noted that India and Russia have confirmed a 'very good relationship,' which is greatly valued in New Delhi.

Shoigu emphasized the importance of communication between Putin and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi. 'It is important to determine the deadlines for the next full negotiations between our leaders,' he added.

The last personal meeting between Putin and Modi took place in the summer of 2024 during the BRICS summit. At that time, the leaders of Russia and India signed a joint statement, which included 81 points. They highly appreciated the level and stability of cooperation and set a new goal to increase mutual trade to 100 billion dollars by 2030. Modi also invited Putin for a reciprocal visit in 2025.
