Expected One-Sided Concessions from Armenia and Aliyev's Diplomatic Victory: Beglaryan
Armenia’s former Deputy Prime Minister and Human Rights Defender Artak Beglaryan has stated, "Various international news and expert leaks indicate that a document to be signed tomorrow in Washington will address the regime of the Syunik road and the dissolution of the Minsk Group. There is no mention not only of the return of the people of Artsakh and the protection of our heritage and property, but even of the release of prisoners, which the Armenian authorities have repeatedly declared as a priority issue. This means that we are once again expecting one-sided concessions from Armenia and a new diplomatic victory for Aliyev, who, with enviable consistency, manages to achieve strategic successes with little to nothing in return. Moreover, the dissolution of the Minsk Group is itself a significant strategic mistake for Armenia, against which the authorities seem reluctant to even facilitate the release of our 23 prisoners, a very specific and achievable task, especially in the context of Trump’s mediation. The Americans know very well what it means to have sustainable, just, inclusive, and comprehensive peace, and documents that do not meet these criteria cannot bring peace to the region," the statement reads.
