Discussion on Potential Meeting Between Putin and Trump at the UN

The UN welcomes all efforts aimed at achieving peace in Ukraine, stated Farhan Haq, the deputy spokesperson for the UN Secretary-General, commenting on the possible meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump.

“We will see what happens. But, of course, we welcome all efforts aimed at establishing peace in Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter, international law, as well as the resolutions of the General Assembly and the Security Council,” Haq said during a press briefing for journalists today.
