Trump Plans Personal Meeting with Putin Next Week

US President Donald Trump has had a phone conversation with German Chancellor Friedrich Merz. Trump reported that the discussion between the United States' special envoy Witkoff and Russian President Putin was more productive than expected.

Meanwhile, The New York Times has reported, citing its sources, that Trump intends to personally meet with Putin as early as next week. Shortly thereafter, he also plans to organize a trilateral meeting involving Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky.

“Trump has expressed his intentions during a phone call with European leaders. It is anticipated that the meetings will include only the three leaders, without the participation of representatives from Europe,” the article states.
