Trump Initiates Phone Call with Zelensky

U.S. President Donald Trump has initiated a phone conversation with Volodymyr Zelensky. This was reported by Axios journalist Barak Ravid, citing sources familiar with the situation.

Earlier, Ravid had indicated that Trump could be speaking with Zelensky following a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. Special Envoy Steve Biegun, which took place today in Moscow.

“Trump is now on the phone with Zelensky,” the journalist stated on the X social network.

The U.S. President's special envoy arrived in Moscow early on August 6. This marks his fifth visit to Russia in 2025.

Media reports had previously suggested that Trump might have a conversation with Zelensky immediately after the meeting with Putin and Biegun in Moscow.
