Contraband Found in Armavir Penitentiary: Saw-Knife, Drugs, and Phones Discovered
Officers from the Operational Department of the Central Body of the Penitentiary Service, together with the security personnel of the Armavir Penitentiary, acted on operational information received indicating that previously delivered food contained concealed banned items. On August 6, at about 09:10, they conducted relevant operational and investigative measures.
As part of these measures, the officers searched the food distributed to four convicts involved in technical and economic work at the facility. During the searches, they discovered four mobile phones and a saw-knife hidden inside loaves of bread. Moreover, in a container filled with harissa, officers found two vials containing a total of 7 ml of a white liquid substance resembling drugs.
Continuing their operation, officers also conducted searches in various areas of the technical maintenance annex. As a result, from a hideout in the wall of the food distribution room, as well as among clothes hanging in the convicts' quarters, a pantry, and a scullery, they uncovered five additional mobile phones, four SIM cards, a charging device with its cable, a digital device with internet access, and a knife. Appropriate measures have been taken in connection with the incident.
