Aravikri Administrative District Head Aram Azatyan Returns to Work
Aram Azatyan, the head of the Aravikri administrative district who was detained a year ago, has returned to work. This information has been confirmed by Haik Kostanyan, the press secretary of the Yerevan Mayor.
Azatyan's lawyer, Arthur Pivazyan, stated that administrative control measures, bail, and a ban on leaving the country had been applied to his client. Prior to these measures, Azatyan had been under house arrest for more than 20 days.
Aram Azatyan is accused of abuse of office and receiving bribes. “The evidence is a misunderstanding; naturally, Azatyan denies the charges,” said the lawyer. According to Pivazyan, they have applied to the European Court, and the application has been submitted, but they do not have any further information.
