Iran Ready to Develop Transit Corridors for Eight Countries, Including Armenia

Tehran maintains bilateral transit relations with eight countries in the region and is prepared to develop its transport infrastructure to enable them access to global markets. This was announced by Iran's First Vice President Mohammad Reza Arif during the Third International Conference of Landlocked Developing Countries.

“Eight countries—Afghanistan, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan—have bilateral transit relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran. By developing its transport infrastructure, Iran has laid the groundwork for neighboring countries to leverage these opportunities, contributing to trade, economic development, access to the global market, and sustainable growth,” Arif stated.

He emphasized that the ancient civilization and cultural heritage shared among these nations have fostered solidarity and unity among the peoples of the region over the centuries. Arif highlighted that as a major transit hub, Iran plays a strategic role in connecting the continents of Asia, Africa, and Europe.
