Rutte Calls on NATO Countries to Immediately Purchase Weapons from the U.S. for Kyiv
The NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte welcomed the Netherlands' decision to purchase weapons worth 500 million euros from the United States for Ukraine and urged other alliance countries to immediately follow this example and issue similar orders. This was stated in his statement released by NATO's press service.
Rutte praised the Netherlands' efforts to implement the initiative to procure weapons from the U.S. for Ukraine through EU and Canadian funding. “I have already written to all other NATO countries, calling on them to contribute to the initiative of sharing this burden in support of Ukraine, and I soon expect similar announcements from other NATO countries,” Rutte said.
