Fires, Collapses, Bodies and Injuries: The Rescue Service Summarizes the Week
From July 28 to August 3, the National Crisis Management Center of the Ministry of Emergency Situations recorded 915 incidents, of which 437 were emergencies. In particular, there were:
- Fires: 331
- Collapses: 1
- Discovery of bodies: 1
- Drownings: 1
- Accidents: 1
- Rockfalls: 2
- Natural fires: 2
- Earthquakes: 2
- Discovery of ammunition: 2
- Search and rescue operations: 2
- Severe hail: 3
- Water transport incidents: 4
- Attacks by wild animals: 10
- Hoax calls: 13
- Poisoning: 13
- Snake sightings: 58
- Suicide attempts: 14
- Traffic accidents: 65
- Household calls: 214
- Fire threat: 45
- False fire alarms: 39
- Other incidents: 92
Due to weather conditions and other factors, there were 33 cases of vehicle blockages. Rescuers provided assistance to 45 citizens and relocated 34 blocked vehicles to safer areas on the highways.
During the past week, 115 people were injured and 9 lost their lives. As a result of rescue operations, 8 individuals were saved.
