The U.S. Establishes the Largest Sanctions Package Against Iran

The Trump administration has implemented the largest sanctions package against Iran to date. This was announced by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

The new sanctions target more than 50 individuals and entities associated with Mohammad Hossein Shamkhani, adviser to Iran's Supreme Leader Ali Shamkhani.

“More than 115 sanctions packages established today are the largest since the launch of the maximum pressure campaign against Iran by the Trump administration. As long as Tehran poses a threat to the security of the United States, these measures will be quite beneficial for America,” stated Treasury Secretary Scott Bencen in his announcement.
