India Stops Buying Russian Oil in Response to Trump's Call

India's state oil refineries, including Indian Oil Corp, Hindustan Petroleum Corp, Mangalore Refinery Petrochemical Ltd, and Bharat Petroleum Corp, have ceased purchasing Russian oil. This was reported by Reuters.

The move follows a call from U.S. President Donald Trump for the country to stop buying oil from Moscow. Earlier, the White House leader had warned against purchasing Russian oil, after which he issued a derogatory statement directed at Dmitry Medvedev, the Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council. Trump's remarks included, 'I don't care what India does with Russia. Let them pull their dead economies down together. We have very few transactions with India; their tariffs imposed on us are too high. The same goes for Russia and the U.S.; they almost do not trade with each other.'
